  • Earned a B.A. in English (Minor in Psychology) from North Central College in Illinois in 2001
  • M.S. in Educational Leadership from Quincy University
  • 2002, 2003, 2004 Boston Marathon qualifier
  • Competed in cross country for North Central College, which has placed in the NCAA Division III national championship meet for 36 consecutive years, winning 13 national titles, and has won 36 consecutive College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin championships
  • Competed in outdoor track and field for NCC, which has won 10 NCAA Championships in track and field
  • Coached by Al Carius, who was featured in Sports Illustrated as the NCAA Division III Cross Country Coach of the Century
