The 2016-17 campaign marks Krista Littleton’s 15th season as the head coach of the women’s cross country and track and field programs at Virginia Wesleyan College
Littleton has produced multiple All-ODAC and All-Region competitors, while also coaching the team to national recognition from the USTFCCCA for its academic performance. Two members of the 2010 squad earned All-Academic Team honors by the USTFCCCA.
Littleton has coached an ODAC Rookie of the Year for cross country, three ODAC Rookies of the Year for track and field, and one provisional national qualifier in indoor track and field. She has coached 71 All-ODAC honorees between cross country and track and field, and four All-South awards for cross country and three for track. In the 2015-16 indoor track and field season, Littleton coached Marissa Coombs to the first female All-American honors in program history with a record-setting mile run.
Littleton is the former co-race director of the Tri-State Cross Country Championships and is currently a Level I Certified Coach by United States of America Track and Field (USATF). In her spare time, she consistently competes in races that include many half marathons and full marathons.
She earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from North Central College in 2002.
