Edelman named ODAC Player of the Week
FOREST, Va.-- Jessica Edelman, a junior from Voorhees, N.J. (Eastern Regional), is the Old Dominion Athletic Conference's Player of the Week in women's soccer.
Edelman started the season strong with the Marlins' first goal of the campaign and eventual game-winner in a 3-0 win over DeSales University on Friday in the Orthopaedic Associates of Virginia Classic on Foster Field at the Trinder Center.
Saturday was even better for Edelman as she had a hand in all three goals in the Marlins' 3-0 victory over the College of St. Benedict (Minn.). She notched the first goal of the game in the 13th minute, followed by an assist to Bre Ingargiola (Bayport, N.Y./Bayport-Blue Point) on her 14th minute tally. Edelman added the third and final score of the game in the 64th minute.
Edelman already has seven points on the season, tops in the ODAC through the first week of the new campaign. She is tied for first with three goals scored.
Virginia Wesleyan competes again on Wednesday, Sept. 7, hosting Hampton Roads rival Christopher Newport University at 7 p.m. in a non-conference game.
