  • "I made VWC my top choice because when I walked on the campus for the first time I felt comfortable.  I felt right at home, like I wasn't eight hours away from all my family and friends, but just down the road.  The girls I met on the basketball team, as well as the coaching staff, were warm and inviting. That warm feeling made me feel like I belonged so I chose VWC and here I am.
  • Selected Virginia Wesleyan over Carelton College in Ottawa

Personal

  • Daughter of Shirley Klauck, who attended Niagara College and Brock University
  • Has one brother, Mark
  • Enjoys the music of One Direction and Justin Bieber and spending vacation time in Wilmington, North Carolins
  • A fan of the Toronto Raptors, U.S. Olympic basketball team member Candace Parker, and actor James Lafferty
  • Favorites include the book "Freedom Writers," the movies "Coach Carter" and "A Walk to Remember," and the TV series "One Tree Hill"
  • Self-description in 10 words or less: "funny, energetic, passionate, compassionate"
  • My favorite aspect of being an athlete is: "the feeling that I get when I'm on the court, the feeling that I am unstoppable. I also love the unity of my teammates and the bonding experience. I love the crowd and the energy they bring, whether you're winning or losing."
  • The part of my game I've improved the most is: "my jumping. It was not as good as it should be so I have been working hard on improving my vertical. Also, throughout high school I was positioned to play the post, but U have a good mid-range and outside shot that I've been working on."
  • My personal athletic goal at VWC is: "to become a better all-around player, help to build on a great program for four years and to win a championship or two."
  • If I could spend one day with a famous person from any time period it would be: "Martin Luther King, Jr.  I would ask where his courage came from and thank him for helping to create quality between races."
  • If I could participate in a reality show it would be: "Big Brother, because of my intelligence and likeability.  The whole point of the show is to use mind games to survive as long as you can in the house."
  • It's the year 2025 and: "I will either be in North Carolina or Los Angeles working as a pediatrician in a local hospital. I am most likely married with a child or two, spending everyday enjoying life and trying new things."
  • If I could possess one superpower it would be: "flying, so on those days when you just want to get off to new places you could without any hesitation."
  • People might be surprised to know: "that I'm really big into video editing. I spend a lot of my free time creating videos for YouTube based on the shows I watch on TV."
  • The most important advice I've received is: "I was told once that I have the ability to be a great player, if I put in the effort.  The only person who could make this happen was myself.  I just have to believe." --Steph Wood
