Straight set victories steer VWC to 9-0 win at Randolph

LYNCHBURG, Va. -- Straight set victories in singles highlighted a 9-0 victory for Virginia Wesleyan College's men's tennis team over the host WildCats of Randolph College on Saturday.

Graham Wilson (Newport News/Menchville), Spencer Bullock (Lorton/South County), Tyler Chang (Hvre de Grace, Md. / Tome School) and Griffin Graves (Middleburg/Middleburg Academy), all rookies, posted 6-0 victories in their first sets at No. 1, 3, 4 and 6 singles, respectively. Graham followed with a 6-1 decision, Bullock won 6-2, Chang won 6-3, and Graves finished with a 6-2 decision.

Chang and Lawrence Hunter (Fredericksburg/Chancellor) emerged with a shutout win in doubles, taking the No. 3 flight with an 8-0 decision.

Virginia Wesleyan, now 7-10 overall and 3-3 in the ODAC, competes again on Saturday, April 6, hosting Roanoke College at 10 a.m.
